Phoenix Arizona Wedding
A Beautiful Desert Setting for your Phoenix wedding
Our couple wanted a Phoenix Arizona wedding. As musicians from the East Coast, they both love the beauty of the desert. So the plan was to get married at a local resort with breathtaking views of Camelback Mountain. And did I mention they selected a July wedding date? And in Phoenix?! Their love was not going to be the only thing heating up their day!
Because both the bride and groom are in the music industry, a summertime wedding was selected due to their busy schedules. And with a late afternoon ceremony time, just before sunset.
So we prayed that the heat would be tolerable. And prayed that the weather would allow us to be outdoors for their Phoenix Arizona wedding. Because Phoenix is known for pretty severe rain, thunder and dust storms known as monsoons in the summer.
It’s All in The Plan!
So an indoor location at the resort was our backup plan. Lots of praying took place over the course of several months so the bride could have her dream wedding outdoors.
Because of the summer heat, we put a plan in place. We scheduled most of the photos before the ceremony. The weather was clear, albeit warm, for the first look, family, and bridal party photos.
A weather app on our phones was consulted all afternoon and at the stroke of 5 pm we started the ceremony. And I will say I don’t think we’ve ever had a wedding party walk down the aisle so quickly!
Because the dark sky was approaching and the wind was picking up. Somehow the photos didn’t seem to reflect the impending storm. But the rose petals on the ground were dancing and swirling about!
So immediately following the ceremony, we invited the guests to enjoy appetizers and cocktails indoors. And literally, within a couple of minutes, it began to pour. And the downpour continued the rest of the night! So we all breathed a sigh of relief that we were so fortunate to have their photos and ceremony outdoors.
Because as you might imagine for a musical couple, the music and dancing were one of the best parts of their wedding. And as the bride and groom sang to each other in front of their guests, tears welled up in their parents’ eyes. What a special touch!
So cheers to the newlyweds. And here’s to making beautiful music together for many years to come!
